Answer:

Emir Abu describes Mansa Musa as a kind person, but he is a little surprised that he doesn't decide to use his Arabic language knowledge and instead uses an interpreter.  Also I think that Abu likes Mansa Musa because he treated him like he deserved to be treated and settles his deal with his Pilgrimage.
