Rutherford B. Hayes, the 19th President of the United States. Hayes was the President known for allowing seceding states back into the union. Also, he fought the good fight against the railroad strikes and was an advocate for temperance (ban on alcohol). His wife, part of the Women’s Temperance Union convinced voters to vote Republican.
