What do you think it was like for so many different cultures and empires to be so close to one another

There was definitely a lot of discrimination with each culture having its own way of life- language, traditions, and values- thinking theirs was better than their neighbors. This stirred up conflict within these close knit empires, resulting in constant rivalry.
