Answer: (5, 2)

System of equations:

2x - y = 8

3x + y = 17

Solve for x:

2x - y = 8

3x + y = 17

________ +

5x = 25

x = 5

Plug in x to one of the equations to solve for Y

2(5) - y = 8

10 - y = 8

-y = -2

y = 2
