2/3x * 1/2 = 2/6x reduces to 1/3x...same as x/3
1/3x * 1/2 = 1/6x...same as x/6
1/6x * 1/2 = 1/12x...same as x/12

its a geometric series with a common ratio of 1/2...u multiply 1/2 by the number to find the next number.
