How was Bulgaria effected during WW2?

Bulgaria were not truly effected by WW2, but by the aftermath. At the end of WW2 when the Russians were heading to Berlin. The soviet union were forced into invading Bulgaria. In hope of putting an end to the war. At least thats what i was taught.
