Rewrite the roots as fraction powers:

[tex]\sqrt{5}= 5^{\frac{1}{2} }[/tex]

[tex]\sqrt[3]{5}=5^{\frac{1}{3} }[/tex]

When you multiply, you add the powers.

[tex]5^{\frac{1}{2} } \times 5^{\frac{1}{3} }= 5^{\frac{1}{2}+\frac{1}{3}  } =5^{\frac{5}{6} }[/tex]
