The slope-intercept form:

[tex]y=mx+b\\\\m=\dfrac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}-slope\\\\b-y-intercept\ (0,\ b)[/tex]

We have the points (-2, 3) and (0, 8) → b = 8. Substitute:

[tex]m=\dfrac{8-3}{0-(-2)}=\dfrac{5}{2}=2.5\\\\y=2.5x+8[/tex]
